As reported by Saknilk, the film collected Rs 0.25 crore nett in India on its 19th day. With this, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has reached a total India net collection of Rs 130.85 crore and its domestic gross to Rs 155.48 crore. The overseas market also contributed to the overall run of the film. On day 19, it grossed Rs 0.25 crore overseas, taking its total to Rs 33.10 crore. Combining both the markets, the film’s worldwide total collection has now reached Rs 188.58 crore.
Welcome to a powerful opening week in the jungle
The film started strongly by earning Rs 63.75 crore on the first day. By the end of week 1, it crossed the Rs 90 crore mark, reaching a one-day high of Rs 24.75 crore on the opening Sunday alone. The worldwide gross also crossed the Rs 90 crore milestone in the same period, closing the week 1 internationally at Rs 93.45 crore.
What is ‘Welcome to the Jungle’?
The story follows Rajeev, played by Akshay Kumar, an actor who is trying to save his career after a series of flops. When a strange new project seems to offer him a shot at revival, things spiral in an unexpected direction: a village mistakes his film crew for a real military unit, believing they have come to protect them from a terrifying criminal, Zatara.
