The result of the CBSE Class 12 exam of Aditya Mishra from Bokaro has been changed after a three-point increase in biology score after re-evaluation. The revised score brought his total score to 498 out of 500 in his best five subjects, making him joint first in the country in the science category.When the CBSE results were announced on May 13, Aditya scored an aggregate score of 99.20%. He scored a 96 in biology, but his teacher thought the score was lower than expected. At that time, Aditya was focusing on preparing for the NEET exam and did not pay much attention to the results.“My parents and teachers submitted the paper for re-evaluation. I got an extra three points, bringing my biology score to 99,” he said on Tuesday.Aditya, a student of DPS Bokaro, secured 100 marks each in English Core, Chemistry and Painting, and 99 marks in Physics and Biology.School principal AS Gangwar said the school was proud of his achievements. He described Aditya as a sincere and consistent student who always showed dedication to academics.“We are happy that one of our top students, Aditya Mishra, has emerged as a national topper in the science category of CBSE Class 12 exams after re-evaluation,” Gangwar said.He added that biology had always been Aditya’s favorite subject and the school deemed the paper worthy of review after seeing the marks initially awarded.According to a teacher, Aditya shared the first rank in science with Kanpur’s Sonakshi Goyal.Aditya, the son of Prajesh Chandra Mishra, Chief General Manager (Finance), SAIL Refractories Division, and Sushmita Mishra, a homemaker, is now focusing on his medical career. He also appeared in the NEET-UG re-examination held on Sunday.“I also took the NEET exam in May and got good results. But the exam was cancelled. I took the retest and expected good results,” he said.Aditya said he studied five to six hours a day, using both his phone and laptop while preparing for the entrance exam. Looking to the future, he wants to join the medical field.“I want to continue my career in the medical field. I want to serve humanity as a doctor,” he said. His father credits the school and teachers with playing a key role in his son’s success.
