Samantha Ruth Prabhu has opened up about the impact of fame on his life and career, admitting that early success made him “arrogant” and deeply invested in his pursuit of stardom. Reflecting on his journey, the actor said that a health-related break eventually helped him reassess his priorities and gain a new perspective on life.In an interview with Gulte, Samantha recalled how overwhelming it was for a small-town girl to suddenly find so much fame and acclaim. He said the adulation he received in the early years of his career — audiences cheering for him and chanting his name — made him feel “addicted to the game of stardom.”The actor revealed that he once delivered five successful films in a year, leading many in the industry to describe him as having a “golden leg”. The tag, he admits, has brought added expectations and pressure to maintain his streak of success.
‘As an actor you have become too arrogant’
Speaking candidly about how success has affected her mindset, Samantha said she has reached a point where she believes her career will continue indefinitely.“As an actor you become so arrogant that you don’t see an end; you refuse to see an end,” he said.The actor shared that when he was forced to step away from work due to health concerns, he was on top of his professional hustle, constantly looking for more projects and opportunities. The unexpected break, however, became a turning point.According to Samantha, the break allowed her to finally admit that careers can have limits, a realization that has significantly changed her outlook on both work and life. He added that during that period, he promised himself that if he returned to acting, he would give up several old habits and patterns.
Health breaks have brought about a change in perspective
The 39-year-old actor says the time away from the spotlight has given him a chance to reflect on what’s truly important. This helped him break away from the relentless pursuit of success and approach his career with a healthy mindset.Samantha has previously spoken about her battle with the autoimmune condition myositis, which prompted her to take a break from acting and focus on recovery.

On the professional front, Samantha will next be seen in Ma Inti Bangaram, which is set to be her first theatrical release of 2026. His last theater outings were Shakunthalam and Kushi.In 2024, she starred opposite Varun Dhawan in the Prime Video series Citadel: Honey Bunny produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. In 2025, he played a small role in a project produced by him, Subham.The actor is currently shooting for Raj and DK’s upcoming fantasy-action series Rakta Brahmand, which is scheduled to release in 2026.
