The launch of Rajinikanth’s 173rd movie ‘Dharman’ turned entertaining and enlightening as the superstar revealed several secrets about the movie. Dr. addressed the gathering along with the producer Kamal Hasan and director Aswath MarimuthuRajinikanth spoke to the audience with characteristic humor and sincerity. The actor also commented on how difficult the process of making this movie was, but was confident about the people making ‘Dharman’.
Rajinikanth opens up about public scrutiny and public speaking
Rajinikanth began his speech with humor about the kind of attention he gets because of his public statements. “Whenever I’m invited to speak, I feel a little hesitant,” he said with a smile. “If I don’t talk, people ask why I’m silent. If I talk, they ask me to talk and create discussions around it.” The veteran actor added that he has learned an important lesson over the years. “People who don’t like us won’t be satisfied no matter what we do. It’s a mistake to think that everyone will like what we do,” he said.
How Dharman found its director after several changes
Rajinikanth also revealed that Aswath Marimuthu has become the fourth director to be roped in for the project. “First, we planned the film KS Ravikumar. Later, Sundar C came on board, but it didn’t work out due to other commitments,” he explained. The actor then revealed that director CB Chakraborty was attached to the film at one point. “Its story revolved around a nuclear scientist and involved shooting in places like Afghanistan and Russia. We felt it would be better to do this project later,” said Rajinikanth. The search for a new script eventually led the team to Aswath Marimuthu and his vision for ‘Dharman’.‘
The superstar expressed confidence in Ashwath Marimuthu
Talking about the final choice, Rajinikanth said that Kamal Haasan initially trusted the team’s judgment rather than listening to the story. However, he insisted that Kamal listen to the narrative before deciding. “After hearing it, he said the story was very good,” recalls Rajinikanth. The superstar added that Ashwath now carries a big responsibility but has the support of the entire team. “I really liked his picture of the dragon. I have full faith in him and this project,” he said. With Rajinikanth’s endorsement and support from Kamal Haasan’s production house, ‘Dharman’ has already emerged as one of the most anticipated films in Tamil cinema.
