Chidambaram’s thriller film ‘Baalan: The Boy’ continued its steady run at the box office on its first Sunday. The film witnessed a healthy growth on the third day and recorded its best single day collection since its release According to Saknilk, the thriller collected Rs 3.00 crore nett on Sunday, a jump of 27.7 percent over its 2-day collection of Rs 2.35 crore.

India’s net collection reached Rs 7.17 crore

‘Balan: The Boy’ has now collected Rs 7.17 crore nett at the Indian box office. The film’s three-day theatrical total in India stands at Rs 8.31 crore.The thriller opened with Rs 1.82 crore nett on its first Friday. The collection increased to Rs 2.35 crore on Saturday and further increased to Rs 3.00 crore on Sunday.The film recorded 28.7 percent occupancy on the first day It rose to 38.3 percent on Day 2 and further increased to 45.1 percent on Day 3.

The Malayalam version runs the collection

Out of the net collection of Rs 3.00 crores recorded on Sunday, 2.90 crores for the Malayalam version. The language version also posted an impressive occupancy rate of 52 percent across 1,002 shows.The Tamil version grossed Rs 5 lakh and the Telugu version added Rs 4 lakh. The Hindi version contributed Rs 1 lakh.Overall Malayalam occupancy stood at 54.05 percent in 3. The morning show recorded 29.25 percent occupancy. Afternoon shows increased to 60.08 percent. The evening show got the highest voter turnout of 64.42 percent. Night shows also remained stable with 52.75 percent occupancy.On the third day, Kerala grossed Rs 2.65 crore. Karnataka followed with Rs 35 lakh.
