Kia Syros EV spotted ahead of launch: Expected specs

The Kia Syros EV has now been spotted in an unprecedented look ahead of its expected debut later this month. The latest images leaked online reveal the production-ready model without camouflage. Here’s a quick look at the details we can expect from the upcoming electric SUV.From the outside, the Syros EV is almost identical to the gasoline-powered Syros. It retains the same upright stance, lighting elements and 17-inch alloy wheels. However, the electric version gets a slimmer front grille, slightly revised bumpers and a charging port located on the left front wing. The cabin is also expected to closely mirror the standard Syros. The spy shots reveal a two-tone interior, the same dual display setup and a two-tone tri-spoke steering wheel. Kia will likely add EV-specific graphics and software to the infotainment system, while keeping the overall dashboard layout unchanged. In terms of features, the Syros EV is expected to offer a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone power, automatic climate control and a premium audio system. Safety equipment is believed to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system and ADAS.While Kia has not officially confirmed powertrain details, the Syros EV is expected to share its electric underpinnings with the globally sold Hyundai Inster EV. If that happens, the SUV could be offered with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. In international markets, the Inster EV provides a claimed driving range of up to 369 km.
