Story: A young, single mother with a dark past assumes different identities to survive with her young son, but when they are separated, the boy doesn’t know how to find her.Review: With Manjummel Boys, Chidambaram shows how he knows how to extract the maximum emotion and thrill from a situation. Her new survival drama, about a young single mother and her child, especially with a screenplay by hitmaker Jeethu Madhavan, raises similar expectations. While the film has its share of tense moments, the emotions remain surprisingly muted. Especially in the climax, although the resolution is interesting, the lack of a strong emotional build-up prevents it from reaching its full potential. The right emotional vibe could have taken the film to another plane, but the ending feels a little uncomfortable.Indhu/Mary/Shirley is a woman running from her past, but with a clear goal for the future. He wants to raise his young to not be slaves to monsters or humans. But afraid that her old life might catch up with her, she takes on different jobs under different names to ensure her and her son’s safety. So will his past catch up or will his own ghost destroy their lives? The first half is charming, driven by a novel concept, layered storytelling and excellent acting, especially from adorable child actor Adheeshan KR, who carries the title role with remarkable ease. And this is a bit of film making where we can see how well the director and actors worked together. And credit Chidambaram’s brilliance in how the narrative conveys childhood trauma.However, the script has some gaping holes and some jerky characters that feel out of place with the rest of the film. While Farzana Palathingal’s restrained performance does a good job conveying her character’s mysteries and problems, the screenplay fails her in conveying emotions, which are such an important part of the story. Indeed, Tovino’s character, Abbas, seems to show a more emotional bond; Even restless in parts, which adds to the curiosity of the character.The story has a certain sadness that will tug at your heartstrings. And watch it for the child artiste, who even brings a comedic charm for a few moments.
