Katy Perry used her recent concert performance to send a light but unmistakable message about her past relationships. While headlining Spain’s O Son do Camino music festival in Santiago de Compostela on Thursday, June 18, the 41-year-old singer included a creative visual gag in her set that poked fun at several of her well-documented exes.During a performance of her 2020 hit ‘Never Really Over,’ Perry interacted with a large smartphone display located backstage, according to video circulating on social media. The interactive bit served as a humorous commentary on her romantic history while celebrating her current relationship with Justin Trudeau.
Katy Perry stage routine with phone display
As Perry sang through the track, phone screens showed calls from various contacts that viewers quickly recognized as references to her previous partners. The first call came from Diplo, the producer and DJ with whom Perry had a brief romantic connection in 2014. Seeing her name, Perry became shocked, repeatedly hitting the “deny” button with an exaggerated nervous expression before covering her eyes and turning away from the display. The beat continued moments later when another incoming call came from a contact labeled “JM,” apparently referring to musician John Mayer, with whom Perry had an on-and-off relationship between 2012 and 2015. Perry glanced back at the incoming call but ultimately chose to ignore it, returning to center stage to continue singing.
Orlando Bloom vs. Justin Trudeau Call
The routine reaches its latest chapter when a call comes in from “OB,” an apparent reference to Perry’s most recent ex-partner, Orlando Bloom. The pair ended their nine-year relationship and called off their engagement in June 2025. As with previous calls, Perry declined to answer. However, the mood changes when a new incoming call appears from a contact known as “JPJT” – the singer’s playful way of referring to the former Prime Minister of Canada. In contrast to her quick rejection of previous calls, Perry turns back to the phone’s display to accept the incoming call, visibly brightening as she acknowledges the mention of her current partner.
