Upcoming cars to be launched in July 2026: Nissan Tekton, Kodiaq RS and more

July 2026 is shaping up to be a busy month for the Indian auto industry, with several new car launches and multi-segment launches planned. In addition, several manufacturers will introduce special editions and updated versions of existing products in the coming months in preparation for the holiday season. In this article, let’s take a look at the upcoming car launches and launches in July 2026.Skoda Kodiaq RsThe Skoda Kodiaq RS is the first car on the list and is expected to go on sale in the coming days. The limited-edition SUV quickly attracted a lot of interest from enthusiasts across the country. All 50 units reserved for India were sold within just six minutes of bookings opening. Now that all 50 units have been sold, it remains to be seen whether Skoda Auto India will release additional parts of the Kodiaq RS for the Indian market.

Skoda will import the performance SUV as a completely built unit (CBU) and is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Skoda Kodiaq RS will be equipped with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that produces 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Compared to the regular Kodiaq, the RS makes an extra 60bhp and 80Nm of torque. Note that the engine is tuned in the same way as the unit that powers the Octavia RS and Golf GTI. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.2026 Renault KwidThe next car on the list is the new 2026 Renault Kwid which will be launched tomorrow in the Indian market. Exterior changes are likely to include revised front and rear bumpers, as well as a new set of alloy wheels. Renault has yet to announce interior updates, although the hatchback is expected to get a facelift and a few new features. The mechanical package is likely to remain unchanged, with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continuing to produce 67bhp and 91Nm. Buyers are expected to get a choice of five-speed manual or five-speed AMT, while the dealer-fitted CNG kit will also remain on offer.Nissan Tecton Next up is the Nissan Tekton, which will make its global debut on July 9, 2026. The front of the new Nissan Tekton SUV features a wide front grille with red horizontal stripes and an illuminated Nissan logo in the center. The SUV also features signature full-width LED DRLs linked to headlamp units that incorporate L-shaped lighting elements. Other exterior highlights include a hood sculpted with prominent character lines, a central hood scoop and Tekton badging.

At the rear, the SUV will get a roof-mounted spoiler, raked windshield, C-shaped integrated taillights and a large bumper. In terms of dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar to the new Renault Duster with dimensions of 4345mm length, 1815mm width, 1703mm height and 2657mm wheelbase.The Tekto is expected to share engine options with the new Duster. A 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo engine with 100 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Another engine is a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline engine with 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual. There’s also a larger 1.8-liter hybrid gasoline engine with 109 horsepower, paired with a 49 horsepower electric motor and a 20 horsepower hybrid starter generator (HSG) paired with a 1.4 kWh (280 V) battery. Together, this configuration provides a combined system output of 160 hp and 172 Nm. We don’t yet know which engine variant will be offered with the new Tekton. Maruti Suzuki Brezza face lift Next up is Maruti Suzuki breeze The facelift is expected to start this month. In terms of design, the overall silhouette of the car will remain unchanged; the upcoming version may introduce significant revisions to its styling and equipment. The rear of the SUV is captured in the latest spy shots. The facelifted model will have a revised front bumper and a redesigned grille. Similar cosmetic changes are expected at the rear. Interestingly, despite the growing trend of connected taillights among new SUVs, the updated Brezza is not expected to adopt this design element, according to recently leaked images. Other exterior highlights include newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels, bright LED headlamps with DRLs, roof rails and an integrated rear spoiler.On the mechanical side, the 2026 Brezza is expected to receive minor suspension tweaks and the recent sighting of a test mule with a 6-speed manual transmission suggests that Maruti Suzuki might introduce an extra gear compared to the current setup. This change is likely intended to improve gear ratios for smoother highway cruising. While there are speculations that the 1.0-litre three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx might make its way to the Brezza, there is no official confirmation yet.Honda ZR-V Next up is the Honda ZR-V. Pre-orders are now open for the Honda ZR-V. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The price announcement is expected to take place this month. The SUV will be available in India via the CBU route. This will push its prices into a higher bracket due to import duties and related costs. The SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it competes with Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and others.Talking about the powertrain, the ZR-V will be offered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual electric motor. The powerful hybrid engine produces 184 hp and 315 Nm of combined power. It is mated to an e-CVT automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. Honda says the ZR-V can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds. Its top speed is 172 km/h and fuel consumption is 22.79 km/h. In global markets, the ZR-V gets all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine.In terms of design, the ZR-V has a crossover-like design with clean surfaces. Up front, it features a large grille and wide LED headlamps that are neatly integrated into the fascia to provide a discreet yet noticeable presence. In profile, the SUV looks lower than regular models, with a sloping roofline and long wheelbase giving it a proportion closer to a lifted hatchback than a conventional tall SUV.New MG SUVThe next JSW is a new SUV from MG Motor India. The company is expected to introduce the Wuling Starlight 560 model. The design patent for the model was filed in India in March. The SUV measures 4,745mm in length, offers three rows of seating for seven passengers and features LED headlights, LED taillights and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it gets two-tone interior, 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, six-speaker audio system, 50W wireless phone charger and a panoramic sunroof.Internationally, the Starlight 560 is sold with plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrains. The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a front-mounted electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery, producing 195bhp and 230Nm, with a range of over 1,000km. The EV version uses a 69.2kWh battery and a 201bhp motor to deliver a claimed CLTC range of 530km. It is still unclear which version will be offered in India.
