According to Saknilk, ‘Nuru Sami’ earned Rs 75 lakh nett in India on its opening day. The film was screened across 1,208 shows.Its India total collection reached around Rs 85 lakh on the first day. Overall occupancy stands at 15 percent.
Occupancy shows gradual improvement
The Tamil version of the film recorded an overall occupancy of 12.55 percent on the first day. The morning show registered 8.85 percent occupancy. The afternoon show grew to 12.62 percent. The evening show has recorded 11.31 percent occupancy. The night show witnessed the best response at 15.08 percent.

The ETimes review for the film wrote, “Swasika does the heaviest lifting. Her reactionary role, all frustration and sudden outbursts, fury on the face is just a default setting with a lot boiling underneath, and she brings out that interior wonderfully.” Vijay Antony only gets right in the closing stretch, as a sugarcane worker named Ezhumalai who is unfazed by the chaos around him. The part is simple, yet he is much more expressive than usual, alive with a real face.
