Aamir Khan All set to start a new chapter in his life with partner Gauri Spratt. While the actor recently confirmed that the two will tie the knot on July 5, he has now opened up about the overwhelming interest surrounding the wedding, the leaked wedding date and the happiness that Gauri has brought to his life.Speaking about her upcoming wedding rumours, Amir admitted that he was surprised by the level of public curiosity surrounding the event.“I don’t understand why (there is all the craze). There is so much interest in the lives of celebrities, especially cricketers and actors. People should be interested in our work, not our personal lives,” the actor told Variety India.Aamir and Gauri decided to keep their wedding celebrations intimate and away from the public eye. According to the actor, the ceremony will be a simple affair attended by only family members and a few close friends.“(It will be) very private. It’s a very simple registered wedding, at home, with only both families and really close friends,” she shared.
‘These days, nothing is off limits’
The actor also reflected on how difficult it has become for the public to maintain privacy in the age of social media. Wondering how the news of the marriage got out before any official announcement, Aamir said, “I don’t know how the information about my marriage got leaked. These days, nothing is off limits.”
‘Gauri and I are both very happy’
Aamir introduced Bengaluru resident Gauri Spratt to the media during her 60th birthday celebrations in March this year. Since then, the couple has made several public appearances, including the premiere of Sitare Zameen Par.The actor, however, is open about the joy the relationship has brought him. Talking about Gauri, he said, ‘Both Gauri and I are very happy. He is a blessing.”
A close-knit modern family
Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutt, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira. She later married filmmaker Kiran Rao and the former couple has a son, Azad.Despite their split, Aamir maintains a warm and cordial relationship with both Reena and Kiran. The actor and his ex-spouses have often spoken about the importance of mutual respect and continue to share a supportive bond as a family.
