The two star actors recently opened up about their latest release ‘The Invite’ and their experiences. The pair also consider how important such films are because they provide viewers with a sense of relief that they are not the only one, while having a good laugh.While sitting down with The Guardian, the pair opened up about the ease they felt while filming the project. “There was a lot of pre-existing comfort and trust,” Norton added, sharing that they had all worked with each other before and were well aware of what the other actors were like on set. “It would never, ever have been the arc if it had been shot out of sequence. We would have been much more careful. It had a really profound effect on the way the story progressed towards the end”, he also shared about working on the film.Wilde added that she shared similar sentiments, admitting, “I feel both thrilled and devastated by this experience, because I don’t know when I can expect to have another one like this. To have a group of people so cohesive. I have a feeling that if I don’t do anything else, I’ll be fine.”

During the interview, the two stars also opened up about the reactions they heard from the audience while watching the film. Norton shares, “People are almost in tears. They’re like: ‘I haven’t had a good, grown-up smile that I’ve felt in a long time.'”On the other hand, Wilde shares that, “My favorite audience laugh seems to say: ‘I thought I was the only one!’ It’s like ha-ha-ha-aah; A little moan When you hear yourself laughing at something that seems revealing and then someone else does it, the quiet shame you feel is immediately relieved.”

The marital comedy follows the lives of a married couple who have been together for a long time. Joe and Angela are going through a lot of life issues, and when Angela plans a surprise party for their bohemian neighbors, things take a turn for everyone in attendance. The official synopsis reads, “Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their mysterious upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night takes an unexpected turn. Did they rekindle the spark or light the match that burned it all down?”The film also stars Edward Norton and Olivia Wilde Seth Rogen and Penelope Cruz in the lead role. The film is a remake of a popular Spanish film, ‘The People Upstairs’, an adaptation of Cesc Gay’s stage play ‘Els Benes de Dalt’. ‘The Invite’ is directed by Olivia Wilde, while Will McCormack and Rashida Jones worked on the screenplay. It officially premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24. The film then officially released in the US on June 26.
