‘Ananthan Kaadu’, starring Arya in the lead role, witnessed a healthy jump at the box office on the second day. The political action thriller, directed by Jayan Krishnakumar and written by Murali Gopi, improved its collection after its opening day and started its first weekend on a positive note.According to Saknilk, the film collected Rs 99 lakh nett on Day 2 in India. The latest figures mark a growth of 52.3% compared to the Rs 65 lakh collection on the first day.
India nett collection crossed Rs 1.5 crore
With second day earnings, ‘Ananthan Kaadu’ has now collected Rs 1.64 crore across India. The film’s India gross collection rose to Rs 1.87 crore.The movie was screened in 1,637 shows on Friday, compared to 1,355 shows on its opening day. The wider release supported the growth in collections, though there was a slight decline in overall occupancy from 14% to 13.6% on Day 2. The first two days indicated a steady start for the political action film.The Malayalam version made the biggest contribution to the overall collection of the film. It grossed Rs 72 lakh on Day 2 from 955 shows. The Tamil version collected Rs 27 lakh nett from 682 shows.In the Malayalam version, the overall occupancy stood at 13.26%. The morning show recorded 6.42% which rose to 7.92% in the afternoon. The evening occupancy reached 10.92% while the night show registered the highest turnout of 20.42%.The Tamil version reported a strong overall occupancy of 15.18%. It recorded 12.80% in the morning, 15.70% in the afternoon, 14.90% in the evening and 16.70% in the night show.
