Posting the video on her social media account, Swara wrote, “Mumbai Police detaining @fahadjirahmad and other protesters at #chaityabhoomi in Mumbai on 20 July 2026, 4:30 pm. They are currently detained at Mahim police station. This is Indian democracy. Shameful condition (sic).”Earlier in the day, he also uploaded another clip, which was reportedly sent from inside a police car after Fahad was arrested.Along with that video, the actor wrote, “I received this video from @fahadjirahmad on July 20, 2026 at 4:30 pm. He asked me to post it. Mumbai police are allegedly attacking peaceful protesters at #Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai. Those showing solidarity, please reach Chaityabhoomi peacefully and in large numbers.”
There were reports of police action during the protests
According to sources, the Mumbai Police detained several people who had gathered at Chaityabhoomi to express solidarity with the Telapoka Janata Party (CJP) protest. The report also said that some protesters were injured during the police operation, although officials did not confirm the exact number of arrests or injuries.
