Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce this week announced a major charitable donation of $26 million to at least 20 organizations across the United States. The engagement comes ahead of a wedding reportedly set to take place this weekend in New York, although the couple has yet to officially confirm their nuptials.According to Variety, a representative’s announcement regarding the donation did not mention the wedding, simply saying: “This week, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift donated $26 million to charities across the United States.” The 20 organizations receiving support include nine food banks, one animal welfare organization, seven educational programs and three children’s hospitals spread across the country.
Details of charitable contributions
Among the organizations that received the grant, New York’s City Harvest issued a public statement detailing its contribution. “We are incredibly grateful for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s generous $1 million donation to City Harvest. This donation is a love letter to New York, and a bold commitment to our efforts to ensure that no New Yorker goes hungry,” said organization CEO Jilly Stephens. “Their support comes at a critical time, with visits to New York City’s soup kitchens and food pantries near record highs and expected to increase in response to federal funding cuts.”
Swift has a history of considerable charitable giving
Swift has demonstrated a consistent pattern of making large-scale charitable contributions throughout her career, although most have been disclosed by recipient organizations rather than directly announced by the singer. During her record-breaking concert tour, local food banks in various cities revealed that they received donations from Swift as the tour passed through their communities.
