‘Jaana Nayagan’ pre-sales box office collection: CM Vijay’s film crosses Rs 16 crore in India, ‘Leo’ and ‘Goat’

As of Tuesday morning, the domestic pre-sales of the film stood at Rs 16.33 crore, driven mainly by its Tamil version. The Tamil version grossed Rs 11.30 crore from 417,000 tickets sold in 5,091 shows. Tamil Nadu emerged as the largest market with advance sales of Rs 6.74 crore, followed by Karnataka (Rs 4.88 crore) and Kerala (Rs 1.80 crore). Telugu and Hindi versions have also started registering bookings, though their contribution is relatively small.

‘John Nayagan’ is creating a lot of buzz, but the advance booking figures are still not on par with Vijay’s previous blockbusters. ‘Leo’ sold around Rs 46.36 crore in pre-sale tickets while ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT) earned Rs 29.83 crore in domestic advance bookings before the first day. Unlike these films, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been trending towards slow bookings rather than instant sales. Despite this, trade experts believe that the film still has enough time to pick up last-minute bookings. Current estimates suggest a collection of Rs 50-60 crore on the opening day in India, though the final figure may increase depending on audience response in the next two days.
