Netflix’s recently released cop drama Kartavya, starring Saif Ali KhanYudhveer introduced the audience to Ahlawat, who won acclaim for his portrayal of the teenage character Harpal. Although many viewers assumed he was a teenager in real life, Yudhveer is actually 33 years old. The actor has now revealed that even Saif Ali Khan was initially convinced that he was too short.Yudhveer shares how the response to his performance has been overwhelming. “It feels amazing. People are messaging me that they love my work. This is the day I’ve been waiting for. I’m constantly replying to all my DMs,” he said in an interview with Kadak. Recalling how he got the role, Yudhveer said the opportunity came through casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s team. Having previously worked with Red Chillies Entertainment, he was invited to audition for the role of Harpal.“It was my second time working with Red Chillies, and it was a great experience. I got a call from Mukesh Chhabra’s team that they were casting for a film called Kartavya and wanted me to audition for the role of Harpal. I auditioned, and after a take or two, they told me I did well. Somewhere, I also felt that I could do this film for Red Chillies a week later, I got a call for a chill. part.”The actor also said that his youthful looks have earned him a lot of compliments, especially from female fans.“Many of them tell me I’m too young and call me pretty,” she shared.Yudhveer also revealed that a comment made by Saif Ali Khan during an interview unexpectedly became a viral moment. According to him, the actor chose Harpal as one of his favorite characters in the film and admitted that he assumed Yudhveer was actually a teenager.“Saif sir was asked in an interview about his favorite scene in the film. He started complimenting me and said, ‘Harpal is so good. I treated him like I was 16. But then Pulkit sir (the director) told him that I was actually 33. He was shocked to hear that.’ That clip went viral,” he recalls.He added that Saif was not fooled by his looks alone. Yudhveer said most of the cast and crew initially believed him to be a child actor until director Pulkit clarified his real age.He said, “Initially, everyone treated me like a child artist. Later, Pulkit sir told everyone that I was actually 33 years old. After that, people like Sanjay Mishra sir and the rest started treating me like any other adult actor.”Yudhveer Ahlawat made his film debut with Saand Ki Aankh Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. She later appeared in Shamshera opposite Ranbir Kapoor and starred in Love Hostel opposite Bobby Deol and Vikrant Massey. Thanks to his youthful looks, he continues to play a solidly teenage role despite being in his thirties.
