KABC’s George Pennaccio confirmed that the famous actress and singer died Wednesday. He took to his Facebook account to share a tribute post for the veteran star, sharing what an influential figure he was in the industry. She wrote, “She was just 16 years old when she was nominated for an Oscar! Actress Anne Blythe died peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday at the age of 98, less than two months shy of her 99th birthday.“She went into more detail about her career in her post, sharing how she was one of the youngest successful stars of her time, and even dabbled a bit in every stream of media, including radio and Broadway. She added, “Anne was active in philanthropy and volunteered for many causes. Her family says she loved her gardening, knitting and oil painting. She was known to gift her work to friends and family.” He also noted how often Blythe would respond to fan mail and that he loved interacting with people.

Blythe was only 6 years old when he first started working in the entertainment industry and gradually rose to the top during the Golden Age of Cinema. He started out as a child performer at a radio station. He later moved to Broadway after making his stage debut in 1941 in ‘Watch on the Rhine’. After 3 years, in 1944, he finally made his film debut and appeared on the big screen in ‘Chip of the Old Block’.Over the years, he has worked with many big stars and has become a rising force himself. His most notable work, which he remembers even today, came from ‘Mildred Pierce’. The actress played Joan Crawford’s daughter in the film and even earned an Oscar nomination for her performance.He is remembered for many notable films including ‘Brute Force’, ‘The Great Caruso’, ‘The Helen Morgan Story’, ‘The Student Prince’ and many more. His last appearance in front of the camera was in 1985 in the TV series, ‘Murder, She Wrote’. She was also honored with the Living Legacy Award in 2003 by the Women’s International Center for her work and her influence.
