He also recalls how ‘Kushi’ first came together. “When I narrated the story to Vijay, he didn’t react much. I thought he didn’t like it and even asked if I should tell another story. But he just said, ‘No, it’s good. Let’s do it.’ I was surprised because he expressed his approval so suddenly,” shared the director.
The director recalled the journey behind the success of ‘Kushi’
SJ Suryah also reflects on what makes ‘Kushi’ special. “The concept and storytelling of ‘Kushi’ was different. Deva’s music played a huge role in the film’s success. The tune of ‘Kattipudi Kattipudi’ was inspired by the song ‘Senthamijh then Mozhiyal’.” If you sing that song fast, you’ll notice the similarity,” he explained.
