Tata Punch HBX Unveiled: Innovations in the Rugged Punch

Tata Motors once again Punch has teased the HBX, suggesting that a rugged version of its popular micro SUV could be launched soon. The adventure-oriented model has reappeared on the company’s official website and social media platforms months after it was first revealed earlier this year. However, the brand is yet to announce a launch date or open bookings.

The Punch HBX was first unveiled in early 2026 as a more rugged version of the facelifted Punch. This edition focuses on visual improvements rather than mechanical improvements.The exterior gets a few changes to give it a rugged look. It features black 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, chunky front and rear bumpers with Armor Guard skid plates and all-terrain tires surrounded by pronounced wheel arches. Tata has also added Armor Guard side cladding, blacked-out roof and ORVMs, silver inserts on the front bumper, air shield rear spoiler and roof rack. Inside, the cabin is expected to remain unchanged compared to the standard Punch. The feature list will likely be ported over without any significant additions.As for the engine, this trim will use Tata’s 1.2-litre iTurbo petrol engine that produces 120bhp of power and 170Nm of torque and will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.The standard Tata Punch facelift is already on sale in India with prices ranging from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 10.60 lakh. However, the Punch HBX has only been shown as an accessorized concept so far. More details on its production plans, pricing and launch schedule are expected to be revealed at a later stage.
