Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh Received a special civic honor from the Los Angeles City Council, which officially declared January 6, 2027 as ‘Diljit Dosanjh Day’. The resolution celebrates his contribution to taking Punjabi music global and bringing South Asian culture into the mainstream of American entertainment.

Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to share a video from the special event, where he can be seen accepting the honour. Sharing the clip, the singer wrote, “Diljit Dosanjh Day in LA,” adding, “The Los Angeles City Council has officially adopted a citizen’s resolution declaring January 6, 2027 as ‘Diljit Dosanjh Day’.”In the same post, he also wrote, “Introduced by Counselwoman Monica Rodriguez, the resolution honors the Indian-origin singer, actor and producer for his significant contributions to the globalization of Punjabi music and the promotion of South Asian representation in mainstream American culture.”In the video, Diljit is seen accepting a framed resolution from a woman during a private gathering. Dressed in a white kurta and pink salwar paired with his signature turban, the singer appeared visibly moved and folded his arms in gratitude as he accepted the honour. The recognition was introduced by Los Angeles Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and marks another milestone in Diljit’s growing global journey.
