‘Salman told me not to do roles where I don’t look like a hero’

Recalling the advice he got from Salman Khan, Randeep said, “His (Salman Khan’s) main advice was not to play roles where I don’t look heroic. It’s good advice… my father says the same thing. Then, he said, ‘You should look similar and do similar roles, which will help create an image and become a star.’However, the actor admitted that he deliberately chose not to follow that path.“I didn’t follow that advice because I always felt that playing the same thing over and over again was boring. And that’s something I never wanted to do,” he said.

‘You can’t spot me’

For every role, I speak in a different rhythm and intonation and sometimes, my voice itself is different,” he explained. While admitting that having a recognizable screen persona can help an actor become a star, Randeep said it was never his primary goal.“I’m not saying it’s not a great thing. But how do you stay fresh for years? Will you start sleepwalking through your roles? Will the gym become the only place you exercise? So, I didn’t follow his advice. However, you never know what the future holds”.
