Vinayakan faces police case for alleged Facebook post involving minor; An FIR has been filed against the ‘Zillar 2’ actor

Mollywood actor Vinayakan is in legal trouble after the Mabelikkara police in Kerala’s Alappuzha district reportedly registered a case against him for allegedly insulting womanhood.According to a Matrubhumi report, the case arose out of an allegation of sharing a picture of a minor girl on Facebook The police action was initiated following the directives of the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.Allegedly, the incident was in July last year. The commission is said to have directed the police to register an FIR after reviewing the matter during one of its meetings held in Alappuzha.

Complaints, pictures and phone numbers have been shared online

Reports say that the complaint was filed by a Thajakara local who is currently working in Mumbai. According to the complaint, Vinayakan shared the complainant’s minor daughter’s picture on Facebook without consent.The complainant claimed that she had earlier forwarded a Facebook post related to the actor through WhatsApp. He alleged that Vinayakan was annoyed by this. The actor then uploaded a screenshot containing the complainant’s WhatsApp profile picture, which shows his eight-year-old daughter. The post also allegedly contained the complainant’s phone number and lewd comments.The complainant also reported that the Facebook post resulted in repeated phone calls from unknown persons. She alleged that several callers abused her after getting her contact number through post.

The police registered the case under multiple sections

After the alleged incident, the girl’s father approached the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights seeking legal intervention. After investigating the complaint, the commission directed the Mavelikkara police to take appropriate action.Based on the commission’s recommendation, the police registered a case against Vinaykan. Apart from allegations related to humiliation of femininity, authorities have also invoked provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act in the case.The investigation is expected to proceed in accordance with applicable legal provisions. The police have not yet announced any action in this regard.

The ‘Zillar 2’ actor has faced controversies in the past

This is not the first time Vinayakan has found himself at the center of controversy. Over the years, the actor has attracted attention for several incidents involving his public behavior and social media activities.He has previously faced criticism for alleged abuse and controversial online posts, even involving a post against the late Oommen Chandy (former Chief Minister of Kerala).

On the professional front, Vinaykan is busy with big film projects. The actor will next be seen in the much-awaited ‘Zillar 2’, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role. The sequel is being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Recently the makers shared the glimpse of the film which also stars Vinaykan.
