Farah Khan Looked back at one of the most talked about controversies involving his brother Sajid Khan During an open conversation with Shekhar SumanExplains why she instinctively came to his defense.Recalling the much talked about public spat between Sajid Khan and the filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker At an award show, Shekhar asked Farah whether Sajid was right or wrong.
‘Sajid has always been my responsibility’
Before giving a direct answer, Farah explained why she immediately stood by her little brother.“I have a child whom I have been taking care of since the age of five. Sajid has always been my responsibility,” she said, adding that protecting him came naturally to her.Addressing the incident itself, Farah clarified that her relationship with Ashutosh Gowarikar has always been warm.“I think Ashutosh and we are very old friends. My only thing was that if he felt bad, he could have just come on stage and talk to Sajid. We were in for a shock as Ashu is truly a very close friend of ours. And he still is.”
Roasting should be limited
The conversation then shifted to the growing culture of celebrity roasting. Farah admits she enjoys humor but believes it has its limits.“I like fried food, but it’s not for our country. It’s not part of our culture. Our culture is not to invite guests and insult them.”He added that when he roasts people on his show, he makes sure it’s done with respect.“I have noticed that you roast people with such grace that even the person you are roasting enjoys it and so does the audience,” Shekhar told him.Farah agrees that humor works best when it’s good-natured rather than hurtful.
A hilarious confession from Yes, no
Towards the end of the episode, Farrah makes a hilarious confession involving the producer Sajid NadiadwalaHis son Suban during the shooting of My Hoon Na. He revealed that the child had accidentally fallen out of bed during filming, but instead of informing his parents immediately, he quickly put him back on the bed and completed the shot.“I never told his mum or dad. We got a great shot of the baby crying. Sorry, Sajid and sorry, Warda,” he laughs.
