Revisiting Golu’s past was not easy
Talking to India Today about the transition from web series to movie, Shweta revealed that the shooting process itself was not very different from the filming of the previous season of the show. According to him, the performance and pace remained largely unchanged despite the move to the big screen.“It wasn’t fast-paced. In fact, filming took as long as it should have. So acting or acting-wise, it was no different.”The real challenge, he explained, was to go back in time to portray a version of Golu who had not yet experienced the devastating events that had transformed him over the years. After spending three seasons portraying a revenge-driven Golu, Shweta admits that returning to the cheerful, carefree young woman from Season 1 felt overwhelming at first.“I spent so many years feeling revenge and despair. Sweety is gone, and Bablu is dead; all her dreams are taken away. And now suddenly, Sweety is standing in front of you, and Bablu is here. Guddu is back to what he was… And that’s not how Golu was feeling about him in the previous season.”The actor admitted that the emotional reset didn’t happen overnight. “The first day, I can’t tell you how confusing it was. I didn’t understand. I was confused because I didn’t know… In the first season, Golu was a different girl. But then everything gradually settled down.” For Shweta, it was less about memorizing dialogues and more about reconnecting with a version of Golu that existed before heartbreak, loss and revenge shaped his personality.
