Ather Energy has launched the new 450X Overtones Series in India, bringing cosmetic updates and a faster charging solution to its popular electric scooter. Starting at Rs 1.57 lakh for the base variant, the updated model gets three new color options, a more powerful charger and the latest Atherstack software features, while the mechanical package remains unchanged.The biggest visual update comes in the form of the new Overtones Series, which features three fresh color schemes: Still White, Space Gray and Lunar Grey. Buyers opting for these new color schemes will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000.Apart from the new colors, Ather has also upgraded the standard charger. The scooter now comes with a 900W charger instead of the previous 700W. The company claims that the new charger can reduce charging time by around 30 percent.The 450X Overtones Series is also equipped with the latest Atherstack 7 software platform. It features Voice on Ather, which allows drivers to use voice commands for functions such as navigation, locating charging stations and adjusting screen brightness. The app also introduces several new safety features, including CrashAlert, which detects an accident and sends an automatic text message to emergency contacts, ParkSafe, which alerts users when they park in theft-prone or towing zones, and LockSafe, which allows owners to remotely immobilize the scooter’s motor via the Ather app.Ather also highlighted its Halo smart helmet ecosystem, which integrates the rider’s phone, the scooter’s dashboard and the helmet to enable hands-free communication and audio functions.Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged. The update is limited to cosmetic improvements, software upgrades and faster charging, with no changes to the powertrain or performance specs.
