A POSCO case was registered after a video showing Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister P Viswanathan touching the outstretched legs of female athletes at an event in Madurai Melur sparked outrage on social media.The viral video’s authenticity has not been independently verified. The athletes were reportedly taking a break after participating in a marathon organized to celebrate the birthdays of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The event was held at Melur Government School and prizes were awarded to the participants.The video shows Viswanathan greeting the athletes after the award ceremony. In the video, he can be seen touching some athletes’ outstretched legs and tapping their toes while talking to them. Reacting to the controversy, DMK advocate Saranya Natarajan termed the minister’s behavior as inappropriate and demanded his resignation.“Viswanathan’s behavior towards children was inappropriate and we have registered a POCSO case; he should resign,” Natarajan said.
