Released in 2005, ‘Achuvinte Amma’ was directed by Satyan Anthikad and written by Ranjan Pramod from a story by Rajesh Jayaraman. The family drama starred Urvashi, Meera Jasmine and Narain in lead roles, while Ilayaraja composed the music. The film marks Urvashi’s comeback to Malayalam cinema after six years. Her performance received much appreciation from the audience and critics and won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.The “Kadukuvara” sequence continues to enjoy cult status.
