WB Gram Panchayat Recruitment 2026: The Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of West Bengal has started the registration process for the WB Gram Panchayat Recruitment Examination 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill more than 11,000 vacancies in various positions in the rural administration system. Candidates can register through the WBPRMS portal and detailed recruitment notification is expected to be released soon.The recruitment examination is applicable for appointments in Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishads across the state. Selection will be conducted through multiple stages such as written examination, interview, job skills test, and document review. This represents a significant increase from previous estimates of approximately 6,500 positions.Job vacancies expand to multiple positionsThe positions to be recruited include Gram Panchayat Karmee, Gram Panchayat Sahayak, Data Entry Operator, Panchayat Secretary, Nirman Sahayak, Administrative Assistant, Clerk, Accounts Clerk, Subordinate Assistant, Technical Assistant, Assistant Cashier, Village Resource Officer and Computer Assistant.According to recruitment details, the total number of vacancies has been increased to approximately 11,000. The registration process will begin on June 17, 2026, and the online application link is expected to be launched after the detailed notification is released.Eligibility criteria and age requirementsEducational qualifications vary by position. Gram Panchayat Karmee applicants have to pass Class 8 exam, while Gram Panchayat Sahayak applicants require Madhyamik score of at least 50%. Data Entry Operator applicants must possess Madhyamik qualification and government approved computer course certificate. Panchayat secretary positions require a high school degree, while administrative assistant candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with computer proficiency. Diploma in Civil Engineering is required for Nirman Sahayak position.Applicants must be proficient in Bengali or Nepali in designated mountainous areas. The age limit for general candidates is 18 to 40 years, for OBC candidates is 18 to 43 years and for SC and ST candidates is 18 to 45 years.Exam pattern and salary structureThe written test will be worth 85 marks and will have questions covering English, Bengali, arithmetic and general knowledge, including rural life and rural development. Depending on the position, candidates may also face interviews and skills tests.The monthly salary varies depending on the position and ranges from Rs. 17,000 for Panchayat Karmee, Group D and Peon posts. Nirman Sahayak jobs are 92,100. The salary for the posts of Administrative Assistant and Stenographer is Rs. 28,900 Rs 74,500.
