Tata Motors looks like Tigor is preparing an update for the compact sedan shortly after launching the facelifted Tiago. Patent images of the facelifted model have surfaced online via government filings, revealing some key exterior details. The facelifted Tigor is expected to follow the styling direction introduced in the recently facelifted Tiago hatchback and could be launched in the coming months.
New Tata Tigor: What to Expect
The patent images reveal a redesigned front end with a slimmer fascia and brighter LED headlights. Tata has also revised the front bumper, which now incorporates a redesigned grille and revised fog lamp housings. New alloy wheel designs are also seen. You can also expect a redesigned rear bumper, updated LED taillight elements and a revised color palette.On the inside, the Tigor is expected to get a new Tiago-like cabin with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, independent digital instrument cluster and Tata’s latest dual-spoke steering wheel design.Expected additions include a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, Type-C charging ports, auto-folding ORVMs and rear AC vents. AMT-equipped variants may get a revised gear selector.Under the hood, the Tigor facelift is expected to retain the existing powertrain options. The sedan is likely to continue with the familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or AMT. Tata is also expected to continue offering the factory-fitted CNG version.Already on sale, the facelifted Tiago Tigor is expected to be the next model in Tata’s compact lineup to get a comprehensive facelift. Once launched, it will continue to compete with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Aura in the four-metre sedan segment.
