BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut The CJP criticized the ongoing protests near Parliament, saying the protests should not be used for “arm-twisting” or pressuring the government over who will be in office. Speaking to the media outside Parliament during the monsoon session on Monday (July 20), Kangana said Parliament was the appropriate forum to debate public issues and discuss government decisions instead of resolving such issues through protests.“Our parliamentary sessions are specifically for us to discuss all issues in a wide and detailed manner and raise relevant questions,” he responded.He also objected to protests that disrupt proceedings, saying that elected governments have the mandate to govern without being pressured by protests. “Creating ruckus, creating obstruction and protesting like this is not right. People have elected a government, and it is their right to decide how they will run that government. If you feel so strongly, you should not stand for the government on your own. Who should be sacked and retained; gradually everyone will take refuge in Bharatiya Janata Party and Sanatan Sanskarti, from which everything else is borrowed,” Kangana added. Kangana Ranaut’s comments came amid CJP’s protest to Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session.Meanwhile, as protesters attempt to march towards Parliament, heavy security has been deployed across central Delhi. The CJP alleged that the police resorted to lathicharge to stop the protesters, a claim that the Delhi Police denied, insisting that no such action was taken.Police later fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd as the march continued towards Parliament. Authorities had earlier said that the march was not allowed and warned that no unauthorized marches towards Parliament would be allowed.In a related development, CJP founder Abhijit Deepke ended his hunger strike, while an activist Sonam Wangchuk From Safdarjung Hospital, he announced to continue his indefinite hunger strike.

Bollywood supports Sonam Wangchuk’s protest

Sonam Wangchuk’s campaign for constitutional protection and environmental protection in Ladakh has received massive support from several prominent voices in the film industry. Also adding to the long list are singer-composer Vishal Dadlani and actor-environmentalist Dia Mirza who used their social media platforms to raise awareness about the movement and galvanize public support to express solidarity with the activist.
