Mel Gibson’s ‘The Resurrection of Christ’ is all set for release

Meanwhile, Mel Gibson is currently working on his much-awaited biblical epic ‘The Resurrection of Christ’, a sequel to the 2004 blockbuster ‘The Passion of the Christ’.The makers have announced that the sequel will be released in two parts. Part One, initially scheduled for March 2026, will now be released on May 6, 2027, and Part Two will arrive on May 25, 2028. According to Variety, both films are set for release on Ascension Day, the Christian holiday that commemorates Jesus Christ’s ascension into heaven.“I am deeply grateful to my incredibly talented cast and crew for pouring their hearts into this production. Together, we created something powerful,” Gibson said in a press release. He further added, “This film represents a major part of my life’s work and it has demanded everything from me as a filmmaker and an artist. It is more than a movie to me. It’s a mission I’ve pursued for over 20 years in what I believe is the most important story in human history.Gibson also said that reuniting with several collaborators on The Passion of the Christ helped bring his vision to life.“Reuniting with many of my original collaborators on The Passion of the Christ — true masters of their craft — allowed us to bring this story to the screen exactly as I envisioned it, with the tremendous support of my longtime partner Adam.
