UGC NET June 2026 Exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will start conducting the UGC NET June 2026 examination from June 22. The national-level qualifying examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode till June 30 for candidates aspiring to qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorship and PhD admissions.Candidates planning to appear for the exam are advised to download the admit card and verify all details including exam date, reporting time, shift and allotted exam centre. The agency has also asked candidates to carefully read the instructions mentioned on the hall tickets before reaching the examination centre.
UGC NET June 2026 exam date
UGC NET June 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts every day during the exam period. The first shift is from 9 am to 12 noon, and the second shift is from 3 pm to 6 pm.To prevent any last minute inconvenience, candidates are advised to report to their respective exam centers at least two hours before the exam begins.
Documents required for UGC NET June 2026 exam center
NTA has released a list of documents that candidates need to bring to the examination venue. Candidates will be required to carry a printed copy of the UGC NET June 2026 Admit Card along with an original photo identification document. Identity documents include Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID card and driving license.Additionally, candidates should bring a passport-size photograph, preferably the same as the one uploaded during the application process. Candidates belonging to the PWD/PWD category must also carry the relevant disability certificate, if applicable.The examination agency has clarified that candidates without a valid admission ticket and photo identification will not be allowed to enter the examination room.
UGC NET June 2026: List of Prohibited Items
Candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing electronic products and other unauthorized items into the examination room.Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, computers, headphones and similar electronic items are not allowed into the exam centre. Candidates must also avoid carrying written notes, books, printed materials, bags, wallets, wallets or any communication and storage devices.As per NTA guidelines, candidates found carrying prohibited items may face disqualification and disciplinary action.
UGC NET June 2026 Exam Pattern
The UGC NET June 2026 exam will be conducted in a single session of three hours without any break in between. The test consists of two papers taken together. Paper One is designed to assess the candidate’s teaching and research abilities, while Paper Two assesses subject-specific knowledge based on the candidate’s chosen subject.The exam consists entirely of objective multiple-choice questions, with a total score of 300 points.

The absence of negative marking in UGC NET exam is one of the important aspects of the exam. Candidates will not be penalized for any incorrect answers.
