Maruti Suzuki has raised prices for the e Vitara for the first time since the electric SUV went on sale earlier this year. While the entry-level variant remains unaffected, the higher trims have gone up by Rs 30,000.
Maruti Suzuki and Vitara: Price hike details
The price of the base Delta variant continues at Rs 15.99 lakh ex-showroom. However, the mid-range Zeta variant now costs Rs 17.49 lakh, reflecting an increase of Rs 30,000. The top-end Alpha variant has also been revised in price and is now priced at Rs 19.79 lakh ex-showroom, which is Rs 20,000 more than before.Maruti Suzuki also offers the e Vitara through a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) program. Under this scheme, the Delta variant is available at Rs 10.99 lakh with a battery lease charge of Rs 3.99 per km. The Zeta and Alpha variants are now priced at Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 14.29 lakh respectively, with a battery subscription of Rs 4.39 per km.The e Vitara is available with two battery pack options. The Delta trim is powered by a 49kWh battery mated to a single electric motor that produces 142bhp and 193Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims a range of 440 km on a full charge. The Zeta and Alpha variants get a larger 61 kWh battery pack. These versions produce 172bhp and 193Nm of torque and offer a claimed range of up to 543km. The e Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first vehicle in the mass market electric SUV segment and rivals models such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
