Actor and content creator Sahiba Bali has appealed to the media to move away from speculation surrounding her personal life and instead focus on the Indian diaspora protests in London supporting the Telapoka Janata Party (CJP) movement in India. Sharing a photo from outside the Indian High Commission in London, Sahiba highlighted her solidarity with protesters demanding accountability and sweeping reforms in India’s education system following alleged irregularities in the NEET exam.
Sahiba’s message to the media
Taking to social media, Sahiba made it clear that discussions around her personal life should not overshadow issues she believes deserve national attention. He wrote, “Dear media stop speculating about my dating life/friendships in London – it’s not national news. But dikhana hai to ye show na (but if you want to show something, show it) (sic).”The photo he shared showed members of the Indian diaspora gathering outside the Indian High Commission in London to show solidarity with protesters across India.
The Indian diaspora extended support
The London protests echoed demands raised by the CJP, with protesters calling for greater accountability and urgent reforms in the country’s education system.Agitation in India has continued since June 6 at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, where protesters are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations of NEET exam irregularities.Educationist and activist Sonam Wangchuk, who led the movement through an indefinite hunger strike, was later detained and shifted to Safdarjung Hospital.
The creator’s video reinforces the message
Another content creator who attended the London protests also shared a video from the protest site, calling for more attention to be paid to the movement.“Today, we stood outside the Indian High Commission in London in solidarity with the nationwide protests demanding accountability and urgent reforms in India’s education system (sic),” the post read.It added, “Students deserve better. Indians across India and living abroad are demanding transparent leadership and accountability from those entrusted with the country’s education. Those who fail to make meaningful reforms must be held accountable, and if they are unable to fulfill their responsibilities, they should make way for competent leadership.” India deserves an education system that is equitable, accessible and focused (sic) on the future of its students.“
Post comes later Arjun Kapoor Dating speculation
Sahiba’s latest post comes just after she found herself at the center of dating rumors with actor Arjun Kapoor.The speculation started after the two were spotted together at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London during the third ODI between India and England, sparking a lot of discussion on social media.Addressing the rumours, Sahiba later shared a picture with Arjun on Instagram Stories and captioned it, “PT2 don’t believe everything.”The post followed an earlier Instagram story where she shared a screenshot of a social media post that mistakenly identified her as actor Anushka Sharma.Responding to the confusion, he wrote, “Don’t believe everything at first,” making it clear that not everything circulated online should be taken as truth.
Sahiba’s acting journey
Sahiba Bali made her acting debut in 2018 with Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu.
