Glenn Maxwell produced a moment of brilliance in the drop box Quinton de Kock during Washington Freedom’s clash against MI New York in MLC 2026. The incident came on the last ball of the opening over of MI New York’s chase. De Kock pushed the ball back towards Maxwell and casually drifted out of his crease as he went back. The captain of the Washington Freedom immediately saw an opportunity.Showing exceptional awareness and quick reflexes, Maxwell collected the ball and, in one smooth movement, struck under the armpit between the legs on the non-attacking side. The ball fell into the stumps and De Kock was stranded far from the ground. The South African wicketkeeper-batsman could only watch in disbelief as he fell short of just one run off one ball. The layoff left MI New York in early trouble and gave the Washington Freedom a perfect start in their defense of a huge total.
