After the phenomenal box office success of Amaran, director Rajkumar Periasamy has officially launched his highly anticipated next venture, OM, starring powerhouse performer Dhanush. The star-studded announcement, featuring a dream ensemble cast including Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Srileela, sent a jolt of excitement through Indian cinema, prompting heated debates online. At the title launch event in Chennai, Rajkumar Periyasamy fielded questions about sharing his title with the 1995 Kannada blockbuster ‘Om’ starring Siva Rajkumar. As reported by FilmiBeat, the director dismissed any controversy surrounding the choice of title. “I finalized the title ‘Om’ while writing the script. There is no controversy behind it. Many filmmakers today reuse titles that have been used before, and this is no different.” He also points out that even ‘Amraan’ carries a title that was used earlier, adding that the focus should always be on the story rather than the title.

Jhalak’s video has also led to comparisons with ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, as both feature forest-based settings and laborers involved in logging activities. In response to those observations, Rajkumar said, “What you have seen is just an introductory glimpse.
