The Los Angeles Knight Riders continued their strong start to the 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) season with an 81-run victory over the Seattle Orcas on Sunday. Jason Holder’s side have now won both matches in the six-team tournament.Batting first, the Knight Riders scored 196 runs in their 20 overs, with contributions from several batsmen. Andre Fletcher led the scoring with 40 from 27 balls and added 58 runs for the opening wicket with Colin Munro, who made 30 from 22 deliveries.Rovman Powell late on he boosted the innings with 37 runs from just 11 balls, while captain Holder chipped in with 23 from 14 balls.For the Seattle Orcas, Jasdeep Singh was the most successful bowler, picking up three wickets for 29 runs in four overs. Ottneil Baartman also claimed three wickets, finishing with figures of 3/36. Dasun Shanaka had a tough outing, conceding 59 runs in four overs at an economy rate of 14.75.The standout moment of the innings came from Powell, whose 11-ball knock included five straight sixes off Shanaka. He was dismissed while trying to hit a six in a row and missed out on equaling the record for most sixes in an over.In response, the Seattle Orcas were never able to build momentum. Their openers were dismissed early and the middle order failed to recover. Several batsmen started but none scored more than Harmeet Singh, who scored 25 while batting at No.8. His innings helped the team cross the 100-run mark.The Orcas were eventually bowled out for 115 in 15.3 overs.The Knight Riders made good use of the conditions and backed up their bowling effort with fielding support. Andre Russell and Corne van Schalkwyk picked up three wickets each, while Sunil Narine kept things going with the ball.The result gave the Los Angeles Knight Riders their second win in as many games, while the Seattle Orcas suffered their second loss in three games.
