film maker Rajkumar Hirani has broken his silence on the much-awaited ‘3 Idiots’ sequel, confirming that the film is indeed in the works. The director shared that the script is still being developed and any additions to the cast have been ruled out. after Aamir Khan Confirmed that he is gearing up for the ‘3 Idiots’ sequel, fans are buzzing with excitement. Rajkumar Hirani reveals where the ‘3 Idiots’ sequel script stands
In a conversation with India Today, Hirani shed some light on where exactly the project stands, revealing that while the foundations have been laid, the script is still in progress. “Aamir read a draft very early; the overall idea is there. I don’t know… He must be doing some media interviews [and spoken about it]. But we are still in the writing process because we are very excited about it,” he said.

Hirani also addressed the rumors surrounding a possible new character and the supposed title ‘4 Idiots’, setting the record straight with a laugh. Dismissing both speculations at once, he said, “Mujhe vi pata laga hai ki iska naam ‘4th Idiots’ hai. Oh main nahi rakha, o kahin media ne rakhi hai (I also got to know that it’s titled 4 Idiots. I didn’t title it; the media just made it up, 4th Idiots’). Just idiots, it’s 20 years later. [from where we ended].“
Aamir Khan had earlier hinted at a sequel to ‘Three Idiots’
The sequel has been in the news ever since the talk of the beloved 2009 film started. Aamir had earlier revealed that Hirani approached him with an idea for the story and everyone involved was excited about bringing their favorite characters back to the big screen.Aamir also gave fans a glimpse of what to expect, suggesting that the film will retain Rancho, Farhan and Raju twenty years later. However, he was quick to add that the team had no intention of rushing it and would only take the project forward when they were confident that the story was worthy of bringing the world of ‘3 Idiots’ back to life.
