Hyundai Motor India has been continuously testing the upcoming Hyundai Bayon SUV. This time, the upcoming SUV has been spied alongside the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, giving us an idea of its proportions. The Bayon looks noticeably more compact than the 4.3 meter long Victoris. A visual comparison also suggests a shorter wheelbase, while its alloy wheels appear smaller than those fitted to the Victoris.Hyundai is all set to launch two new SUVs for the Indian market. Codenamed BC4, Hyundai has not officially confirmed the location of the upcoming Bayon-based SUV at this stage. While some reports say it will be a sub-four meter offering aimed at rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Taisor and Nissan Magnite, other reports suggest it could be over four meters long and slotted between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s SUV portfolio. Until Hyundai releases official specifications, the exact segment and location of the SUV is unclear.

In terms of design, the front end of the Bayon will feature a split headlight layout similar to the current Venue, with slim LED daytime running lights positioned above the main headlight units. Previous overseas sightings have also revealed black bumper cladding, front parking sensors and a radar module, hinting at the presence of advanced driver assistance systems. The side profile carries several styling cues from the international Bayon. The window line, roof profile and overall proportions look largely similar to the global model, while the alloy wheels have a new design. The overseas Bayon is offered with 16-inch wheels, although wheel size is yet to be confirmed. At the rear, the SUV continues with split lighting. The lower part is expected to house the main taillight units, while the upper part will house indicators and reverse lamps. The test car was also spotted with roof rails, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. The interior of the standard model has not yet been released. However, a glimpse of the N Line version outside revealed an all-black cabin theme with contrast detailing and adjustable headliners. The production model is expected to have a similar design, albeit with a different color scheme. While Hyundai hasn’t revealed the list of features, the SUV is expected to be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, automatic climate control, wireless charging and numerous safety features. Higher variants may also offer ADAS functions.Powertrain details also remain unknown; The SUV is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a factory-installed two-cylinder CNG option. A 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine is also expected.Image: Reddit/rCarsIndia
