Christopher Nolan‘The Odyssey’ continues its dream run at the Indian box office. Headlined by Matt Damon, the epic fantasy adventure crossed the Rs 70 crore milestone in its opening weekend.

According to a report by Sacnilk, the film has already become Nolan’s biggest opener in India. ‘The Odyssey’ has collected an estimated Rs 21.90 crore on Sunday (3 days) and a total of Rs 26.16 crore across 9,195 shows.The 3-day earnings saw a marginal drop of 0.5 percent in collections from Saturday’s Rs 22 crore nett.With this, the total Indian net collection of the film is estimated at Rs 61.30 crore, while its total collection now stands at approximately Rs 73.19 crore after just three days in theatres.
Christopher Nolan scored India’s biggest weekend
‘The Odyssey’, which opened its box office journey with a nett of Rs 17.40 crore on Friday. It witnessed good growth at the Saturday ticket window, earning an estimated Rs 22 crore nett (Rs 26.27 crore gross) before maintaining almost identical numbers on Sunday.The film has already created history on its first day by becoming Christopher Nolan’s highest opening film in India. It collected Rs 20.75 crore across all languages on day one, comfortably surpassing ‘Oppenheimer’s’ Rs 17.50 crore gross opening.
‘The Odyssey’ English version crosses Rs 50 crore mark
The original English-language version is doing business, grossing the film around Rs 50 crore. According to reports, the film has earned an estimated Rs 48.5 crore so far. The Hindi dubbed versions came second, followed by the Tamil and Telugu versionsWith its opening day performance, ‘The Odyssey’ surpassed the opening day collections of Nolan’s previous releases, including ‘Oppenheimer’, ‘Tenet’, ‘Interstellar’ and ‘Dunkirk’, setting a new benchmark for the acclaimed filmmaker in the Indian market.
Nolan’s top world debut
The film also opened to exceptional numbers worldwide. According to trade reports, the film debuted with an estimated USD 124.5 million at the North American box office and USD 139.6 million from the international market and scored a worldwide opening weekend of over USD 264 million.The debut marks Nolan’s biggest opening since 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
