I thought I was dying. I was so scared. I didn’t know how to tell my mom,” Jasmine said. She added that many girls go through similar fears because they are not educated about menstruation at the right time. Reflecting on the experience, Jasmine says, “Periods are a beautiful thing. But when you don’t know what’s going on in your body, it can be the most terrifying experience.”
