Former actress Sonam Khan has finally broken her silence on the long-running rumors of her alleged relationship with the ‘Tridev’ director. Where Sonam and the director Rajeev Rai started dating and eventually married, this was long after the film was made. The actress clarified that she was not cast in the film as Rajeev was dating her. In fact, at that time, both Sonam and Rajeev were dating others. Addressing the speculation that has circulated for years, he set the record straight and clarified his side of the story. Taking to Instagram, Sonam wrote a long note in which she rubbished rumors of an affair with Rajeev Rai during the making of Tridev. He sheds light on what actually happened and how the popular narrative surrounding it has shaped itself over time. Sonam clarified that she started dating Rajeev Rai after the release of ‘Tridev’.Recalling the rampant speculation after the film’s release, Sonam wrote, “Wee wee wee oh naaa like a big no real story I didn’t have a relationship with Tridev director. So read… Tridev’s first day of shooting. First song. First rumours. As per popular belief after Tridev’s release, I became very strong during Tridev’s directorship.” This gave me more leverage than the other two leading ladies. Like getting more screen time and a super hit song that was playing in every corner of the country.”She went on to reveal that neither she nor Rajeev Rai were romantically involved at the time. “Plot twist: Rajeev was on the set with his girlfriend. One of my boyfriends from the set also parked away. We were both very taken people. Wei Wei just fell into my lap. Actually Rajeev didn’t want me in Tridev. He contacted and almost sealed the deal with another actress, because he didn’t like me much when he saw her wet. In fact I was the last choice when he had no choice.”Rejecting claims that she got special treatment in the film, Sonam added, “So, no romance, no secret phone calls, no so-called directorial opportunities if even there. I’m not sorry for sounding silly or misleading. Just Me, an interesting song. Rajeev and I actually started dating long after Tridev was released, because we were both single and had no explanation. So, I got zero choice in making my favorite Tridev. zero zilch hope Whoah whoah whoah whoah!
