this indian air force (IAF) has extended the registration deadline for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/2026 recruitment. Eligible candidates can now submit their applications through the AFCAT official portal before June 21, 2026. The recruitment drive is currently underway for 379 vacancies including AFCAT admission, National Cadet Corps (NCC) special admission and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score admission. Selected candidates will attend courses scheduled to begin in July 2027.
Who can apply?
Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the available positions. Candidates applying for ground duty technical posts should possess a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree, while candidates applying for non-technical posts must have a graduation degree in a relevant subject. Candidates for the Flying Squadron should be between 20 and 24 years old. Applicants for ground duty technical and non-technical sectors should be between 20 and 26 years of age. The age limit is calculated from July 1, 2027.
Application fee
Candidates applying through AFCAT Entry need to pay an application fee of Rs 550 along with applicable GST. Candidates who apply through NCC Special Entry or GATE Score Entry do not need to pay the application fee.
Selection process
The selection process includes the online AFCAT exam, followed by the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview process, document verification and physical examination. The Indian Air Force has said that recruitment will be strictly merit-based. Candidates appearing before the Air Force Selection Board for the first time may also be eligible for travel allowance subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification.
