Navarone Garibaldi Garcia recently went viral when he posted a funding link stating that he needed to raise money to start his own pizza chain from his LA home. However, the post was met with a lot of criticism. After the incident, Garcia took to her Instagram account to defend herself, posting that, “Haters gonna hate. I’m sure I’ll have to explain this many more times to ignorant people who think I should ‘ask mom’ or that I have money….. Yes, I have a lot of bills, I have a budget, I donate to other causes.”He also added in his post that, “I also donate to the homeless… I don’t just film and put it on YouTube… But, I also have crazy ADD and try to do so much… I thought I had a great idea if I did everything all the time… I’d be broke in 2 days. I don’t want to donate something I can’t afford, I’m offering a lot for free and I’m offering that pizza. It’s just out of my budget to buy this oven with my own money.” Need help for the rest. He shares that, “I always wanted to start my own business, but marketing and advertising always stood in my way. As well as having a full brick and mortar store adds another cost.”He announced that he had about $3,000 in savings for the project and needed some more money. He added, “Now I want to make and serve affordable organic pizza to my community and sell it from my driveway to large foot traffic in my neighborhood. I found a large industrial pizza oven and got it down from $14,000 to $8,500.”The goal of the funding page was to set up USD 5,500.
