Actor R Madhavan received the award Padma ShriOne of India’s highest civilian honors conferred by the President Draupadi Murma At the second institute function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi on 23 June. His wife Sarita Madhavan and son Vedanta Madhavan attended the event. The actor opted for a navy blue classy ethnic outfit for the occasion. But her watch was the highlight of her look. The actor sports a Jalsa Nebula on Titan with an 18-carat rose gold case. There is a miniature painting on the marble dial inspired by Jaipur’s Hawa Mahal. It is a limited edition watch priced at Rs 40 lakh and only 10 pieces are available worldwide. After the event, Madhavan shared a heartfelt note on social media, expressing gratitude for the recognition and reflecting on his journey in cinema.He wrote, “I am deeply humbled and deeply grateful and truly honored to be awarded the Padma Shri. My sincere gratitude to the Government of India for bestowing on me one of the highest civilian honors of our country. I am equally grateful to the Government of Maharashtra for recommending my name and keeping their faith. The actor thanked his audience for their unwavering support over the years, saying, “To every person who has watched my films, embraced my characters, celebrated my successes, forgiven my faults and stood by me over the years – this honor is for you as well as for me. Your love has been the driving force behind every milestone in my life.”Reflecting on the responsibility that comes with the honor, Madhavan added, “Today I also feel a deep sense of responsibility. This recognition reminds me that every privilege carries with it a greater responsibility – to uphold the values of integrity, humility and excellence; To contribute meaningfully to the world of cinema which has given me everything; And I will serve my country in any way I can.”Concluding his message, he dedicated the recognition to his loved ones and colleagues. “I dedicate this honor to the magical world of cinema, to every artist and technician who has walked beside me and to my family who have been my strength…from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
