Diljit Dosanjh pays tribute to activist Yashwant Singh Khalra after the release of ‘Satluj’ on OTT.

After a delay of more than three years, Diljit DosanjhIts ‘Satluj’ has finally entered the OTT streaming platform. After its release, the famous singer and actor became emotional and reflected on the hurdles they faced in getting the film approved and released. ‘Satluj’, earlier titled ‘Punjab ’95’, tells the story of human rights activist Jasbant Singh Khalra.

Taking to his Instagram account, the actor and singer spoke about the release of ‘Satluj’ and paid tribute to activist Jasbant Singh Khalra. He himself shared a clip of the film and wrote an emotional caption, “Finally after 4 years of struggle.. SATLUJ #Panjab95 @zee5 Shaheed Yashwant Singh Khalra Jee Nu Lakh Lakh Parnam released.”He also wrote, “My aksar tim nu pushda rehenda c k eh film kade vs ni agi? About ‘Sutlej’

The story of ‘Satluj’ is based on the real life of human rights activist Jasbant Singh Khalra. Apart from Dosanjh playing the lead role, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Subinder Vicky, Jagjit Sandhu and Geetika Vidya Ahlian. It is based on how Jasbant Singh Khalra was involved in investigating what happened to around 25,000 people who were identified as missing during the rebellion in Punjab. He was on his way to uncovering the truth behind the missing persons, their deaths and the involvement of the Justice Department and he even went public with his information. ‘Satluj’ is currently streaming on Zee5.
