Skoda Slavia facelift tested again: Interior, design changes here

The Skoda Slavia sedan made its global debut in 2021. Now, almost five years later, the model is set to get its first mid-life facelift, bringing a number of design and feature updates. The upcoming Slavia facelift has been tested several times on Indian roads over the past few months and each glimpse has revealed something new. New spy shots of the Slavia facelift have surfaced, revealing more details about the sedan’s upcoming updates. The latest images offer a glimpse inside the cabin, although most of the dashboard remains hidden under heavy camouflage.

The spy shot offers a first look at the interior of the Slavia facelift. While camouflage still covers most of the dashboard, the cabin layout appears largely unchanged. A standalone infotainment screen and available steering wheel design can be seen on the test car. Based on the updates introduced with the Kushaq facelift, the Slavia is expected to get a larger touchscreen, an updated digital instrument cluster and new upholstery options. Mechanically, it is expected to remain unchanged, retaining the same set of engine options. Like the Kushaq, Skoda also expected to introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, replacing the previous 6-speed unit. The other engine is a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo gasoline. In terms of design, it is expected to feature a revised fascia with sharper headlamps, a redesigned grille with an integrated light strip similar to the Kushaq facelift, and a new bumper design. On the sides, the sedan may get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates may include a redesigned trunk lid, a slimmer tail lamp housing and other subtle styling improvements. The sedan will also have dynamic turn signals. The current model uses halogen indicators at both ends; facelifted model will be replaced by LED blocks. Updated combination lamps with dynamic turn indicators will be placed on the lower exterior with a wide interior-to-exterior animation similar to those seen on higher-end sedans.Photo: Rushlane/Instagram
