Dharmendra Pradhan assures confidence in NTA as 22 lakh candidates prepare today

New Delhi: As 22 lakh students across the country prepare to appear for the NEET reexamination, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday urged them to appear for the exam fearlessly and confidently without any anxiety or stress.Pradhan, who was speaking at a yoga event at Delhi University on the occasion of International Yoga Day, said he has complete and unwavering faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), the state government, the district administration, the wider education community and most importantly, the students themselves.“Today, and soon, around 22 lakh students will appear for NEET. They should appear without fear or anxiety. They will definitely do well. I send many good wishes to the students,” he said.Pradhan appealed to people not to do anything that may affect the mental health of children, saying the future of India’s new generation should not be toyed with.“Please don’t make fun of the future of India’s new generation. Don’t do anything that will affect the mental health of children. In a few hours, children will go for check-ups,” he said.“I appeal that we cannot joke with the future of India’s new generation. No one should joke with this matter. Nothing should affect the mental health of children. In a few hours, students will take exams,” he said. The minister did not name anyone but said the actions of some “so-called responsible people” on Saturday had “wrong intentions” and affected children and urged them not to cause any further suffering.“At least if you have a responsibility, if you consider yourself a true citizen of India, if you represent the people of India, please take responsibility and not cause more suffering to children,” he said.Pradhan also said that while the NEET exam will be held on Sunday, the pending CBSE results will also be released soon.“Out of nearly 1.7 million CBSE students, the results of about 1.55 million students have been released. The process for those students who applied for re-evaluation, re-evaluation and re-validation is almost complete and CBSE will announce the results soon,” he said. The National Testing Agency (NTA), in a message fromThe agency said admission tickets for the re-examination have been made available to all eligible candidates on its website and “extensive efforts” have been made to inform them through announcements, SMS reminders, emails and WhatsApp messages. However, as of 7 pm on June 20, some candidates had not yet downloaded their admission tickets.“It has been observed that some candidates have not downloaded their admit cards as of 7:00 pm on June 20, 2026. NTA has also sent the admit cards to the Whatsapp numbers of these candidates,” the agency said. The NTA also reminded candidates that admission to the center starts at 11 am and ends at 1:30 pm, after which admission is prohibited and advised candidates to carry their admit card, valid photo ID and two passport size photographs, avoid carrying prohibited items, stay hydrated and arrive early and be aware of traffic. The NTA canceled the NEET-UG 2026 examination on May 3 due to allegations of question paper leaks and the government asked the CBI to conduct a comprehensive probe into the matter. The re-examination will be held on Sunday.
