Despite ‘Hera Pheri 3’ running into legal hurdles, Sunil Shetty Did not give up hope. The actor believes the success of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ could pave the way for the much-awaited comedy to finally go ahead. Calling ‘Hera Pheri’ the biggest comedy franchise of his career, Sunil admitted that he hopes the film will eventually go on floors and reach audiences, largely because of the huge nostalgia associated with it.Sunil said in an interview with Hindustan Times, “Hera Pheri is the biggest comedy franchise of my career and the nostalgia attached to it is very heartwarming. With the constant memes it has, and its recall value, who wouldn’t want it to happen? Fingers crossed, hopefully after the welcome, something magical should happen.”The actor also shared his thoughts on the importance of family entertainment, saying the success of films like ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ will benefit the entire industry.“Any film’s success is a success for the industry, especially at a time when we’ve forgotten what family entertainment means and what it means to be inclusive with grandparents and grandchildren.”Crediting producer Feroz Nadiadwala’s vision, Sunil added, “The mindset of Disney is the mindset of Feroz Nadiadwala, and that is the reason for the success of Welcome to the Jungle. I am happy, excited and hope that many more family entertainers will come out.”The actor also opened up about reuniting Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and many other veteran stars in the ensemble cast. He said the film allows each actor to shine despite the star-studded lineup.“The most beautiful part of the film is that despite having so many iconic actors, you are still able to find your niche and be appreciated like no one else. Akshay’s success is as much as Raveena’s, Paresh Bhai’s, Johnny’s, me or any other actor’s.”Looking back on the experience, Sunil said he had no qualms about sharing screen space with such renowned actors.“Films like this give you a chance to win back into the hearts of the audience. I piggybacked on Akshay, Paresh G and Raveena to be part of this successful franchise, and I’m glad I made that choice. I’m glad I wasn’t insecure with these people around me,” concluded the actor.His comments came shortly after the director Priyadarshan announced his exit from ‘Hera Pheri 3’ and claimed that the film would never be made. While the statement disappointed fans of the beloved franchise, Sunil’s optimism gave many reasons to hope that the project could still find a path.
